Internet speed: An easy way to check your internet speed is to use a site like this one: https://www.speedtest.net/
Operating system and browser information: Websites like this one here (https://supportdetails.com/) can confirm important information such as your operating system, the version of the browser you are using, and if you have cookies enabled on your browser.
Hardware specifications: Once you have identified which operating system you have, you can figure out your computer specifications like your processor, RAM, and system type by following the instructions below.
Windows 10 & 11
- Right-click on the Windows Start Menu on the bottom left of your computer screen.
- On the menu that appears, click on System.
- Look under Device specifications for the necessary information regarding Processor, RAM (total and useable RAM), System Type, etc.
Windows 8
- Right-click on the Windows Start Menu on the bottom left of your computer screen.
- On the menu that appears, click on System.
- Under System, find the necessary information regarding Processor, RAM, System Type, etc.
Windows 7 and Vista
- Find the Computer icon on your desktop.
- Right-click the icon, which will open a menu.
- Select Properties to see the necessary information regarding Processor, RAM, System Type, etc.
Mac Users: Go to the "About This Mac" feature for information about your system.
Graphics card: Once you have identified which operating system you have, you can figure out which graphics card (or "GPU") your computer has by following the steps below.
Windows 10
- Right-click on the Windows Start Menu on the bottom left of your computer screen.
- On the menu that appears, click on Device Manager.
- Click the arrow > next to Display Adapters. This will reveal your graphics card, or GPU.
Windows Vista/7/8
- Right-click on the Windows Start Menu on the bottom left of your computer screen.
- On the menu that appears, click on System.
- Look under Device specifications for the necessary information regarding Processor, RAM (total and useable RAM), System Type, etc.
Mac Users: Go to the "About This Mac" feature for information about your system.
